We’re building a team of neighbors who want to stay informed and work together to make sure our voices are heard.

Too often, residents are expected to face large commercial developers on their own. In reality, defending homeowners in major land-use cases is expensive. Legal and expert costs—including zoning appeals, PennDOT permitting, traffic and engineering review, and extended proceedings—commonly range from $30,000 to $50,000, depending on complexity. Developers plan for these expenses as part of doing business; individual homeowners cannot.
Your contribution helps fund the legal defense all homeowner impacted by the proposed Shoppes at Concord commercial development. This effort is about fairness, safety, and accountability. When residents pool resources, they gain a meaningful voice in decisions that affect their homes, property values, and quality of life.

A year ago, most of us had never attended a township meeting, organized a fundraiser, submitted public comments, or stood at the side of the road holding signs. Quite simply, we never had a reason to. Today, we do.
The NJ developer continues to push a massive retail development at Ridge Road and Route 202 that would permanently alter one of the most recognizable gateways to our community. What began as concern among a handful of neighbors has grown into a community-wide effort focused on safety, flooding, environmental impacts, and protecting the character of our community.
Most importantly, our voices are being heard. Over the past several months, residents have organized, raised funds, submitted formal comments, engaged elected officials, and challenged assumptions that this project should simply move forward without scrutiny. As a result, we are seeing momentum.
Since its launch, Save Ridge Road has become a trusted source of information and community engagement. This website surpassed 20,900 site visits, demonstrating the growing public interest in this issue and the community's demand for transparent, fact-based information.
One of the most controversial elements of the proposal - the gas station - is no longer part of the plan. In addition, Giant’s request for a liquor license was denied. These outcomes demonstrate that public participation matters and that our voices are being heard.
We have engaged engineering and land use experts to provide township officials and state agencies with fact-based assessments of the development’s impact. We will continue advocating to local and state officials.
The NJ developer has attorneys, engineers, and consultants. What we have is a community that cares enough to get involved - and that has already proven that it can make a difference.
The gas station is gone because residents are involved. Questions surrounding traffic, stormwater, environmental impacts, and safety are receiving attention because residents are involved.
Most of us never expected to become involved in local land-use issues. We became involved because we believe the NJ developer’s plans will have a direct and lasting impact on the safety, environment, and character of our community.
Large commercial developments involve complex zoning and regulatory processes. Individual homeowners cannot realistically challenge flawed studies or procedural violations without shared legal resources.
Donations fund legal representation and expert review on behalf of homeowners impacted by the Shoppes at Concord development, including zoning, traffic, safety, and permitting matters. Funds may be used for attorney fees, legal filings, expert consultants, traffic and engineering review, document analysis, transcripts, and hearing-related expenses.
Your donation will protect the character, safety, and long-term well-being of our community to include you, your family, your friends, neighbors, other homeowners, local small businesses - all of us who live and work in Chadds Ford and Concord Township.
We recently incorporated as a nonprofit organization with # EIN # 39-5058583 under the name Save 202 and Ridge Rd (DBA Save Ridge Road). We currently do not have tax-exempt status. As such, your donation is not tax-deductible at this time. We are obligated to comply with all IRS donation and income reporting requirements.
